国名：哥伦比亚共和国（The Republic of Colombia) 国旗：呈长方形，长与宽之比约为３：２。自上而下由黄、蓝、红三个平行横长方形相连而成，黄色部分占旗面的一半，蓝色、红色各占旗面的１／４，黄色象征金色的阳光、谷物和丰富的自然资源；蓝色代表蓝天、海洋和河流；红色象征爱国者为争取国家独立和民族解放而洒下的鲜血。

Colombian Climate

Colombia is in the equatorial area, the mountainous system of the Andes confers to the country a topographical variety that embraces humid forests and tropical plains, until moors and perpetual snow.

Therefore, the climatic variations don't obey stations but to the altitude, and the temperature descends 6° degrees approximately for each 1.000 meters. At sea level, the temperature comes closer to 30° degrees.

SAlthough in Colombia there are not stations and the climate of each region stays relatively stable during the whole year, they show up slight variations when it is the (dry season) or (rainy season). The dry season is usually in December-January and in July-August and the rainy season is in April-May and October-November, although this can vary.

•	Historical Tourism is carried out in areas which have an everlasting link with the cultural history of Colombia. Among these are Santa Marta, Cartagena, Bogotá, Mompox (Bolívar), Tunja, Villa de Leyva and Popayán.
TO REST
•	This type of tourism corresponds to the one that obviously has the exclusive intention of resting and recovering after long working days. The favorite destinations for this purpose are Cartagena, Santa Marta and San Andrés y Providencia Islands of Rosario, among others. It is also denominated as "tourism of sun and beach", bound to the previous category, because in the moment people choose these places for vacation. In short, warm places where the sea resides, an ideal scenario to chill out. In this case, the previously noted recommendations apply.
SPORT TOURISM
•	Sport Tourism is provide in two ways. On one hand, the passive one consists on the attendance to olympic games and world championships. The second, the active, is the one wich brings the purpose of practicing a sport. In Colombia, one of the preferred places by the climbers is the Rocks of Suesca in Cundinamarca. In Bogotá there are different places where you can see the sports or to practice them. •	Exotic turism is for the person with the intention of knowing the attractive places of particular beauty and exhuberance. Some of the characteristics associated with this sector provide a taste of risk and adventure.
RELIGIOUS TOURISM
•	In Colombia, one of the aspects that is imbeded in our roots is the religious tradition. Hence, there are several places which are accustomed to visitors motivated by this reson. The Sanctuary of the Flagstones in Pasto (Nariño), Baga in Cali, Mompox (Bolívar), Popayán and the Sanctuary of Monserrate in Bogotá; are some of the options.
GASTRONOMIC TOURISM

Air Transportation
Colombia has 8 international modern airports used by Latin American, North American and European airlines. During 2003, almost a million entered, half passengers and 450.000 tons of load were mobilized. The growthof air transport in Colombia is growing every day. This is greatly possible due to the 587 airports that communicate the remote regions of the country.


Marine transportion
Due to politics, transport has been privatized and modernized in the four main ports: Buenaventura in the Pacific coast and Barranquilla, Cartagena and Santa Marta on the Caribbean coast. There are other ports which specialize in the export of coal, bananas and petroleum. Cartagena provides the jetty used for tourist cruises.

Road transportion
The net of highways today adds up to more than 145.000 Km of roads that connect the main cities, marine ports, Venezuela and Ecuador. These roads cater to the constant flow of buses and freight. It is projected that the Pan-American road would unite Colombia with Panama, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru. There Is 3.140 Km of railroads in reconstruction and two lines that transport coal to private ports that mobilize 27 million tons a year.
